Southend Airport not hosting an event to view mini airshow this summer - here's why

On Sunday (June 25), The Essex Historical Military Vehicle Association is hosting an Armed Forces Day event in Maldon's Promenade Park.

There will be a flypast from a Lancaster bomber for the event, which is set to fly over the park between 2.36pm and 3.06pm.

A spokesman for the Essex Historical Military Vehicle Association said: "This event also features displays from members of the Essex HMVA showing their beautifully restored vehicles, as well as some members military equipment collections."

There will be a number of events across south Essex to commemorate the service of armed forces personnel past, present and future.

In Southend, there will be a procession of serving Armed Forces personnel, veterans and cadets starting in the High Street, while in Basildon a parade will start at midday to cheer on serving personnel, veterans, and cadets.

In Castle Point, celebrations will take place on Canvey, with a march from Furtherwick Road to King George V Playing Field.
