A MAN and woman were charged following a Pitsea McDonald’s incident that saw a staff member and police officer assaulted
Police received a call from a member of staff at the restaurant in Pitsea shortly before 2.40am yesterday, June 25, reporting a suspected drink driver.
In the incident which followed, it is alleged a police officer and a staff member at the restaurant were injured.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Richie Jolly, 30, of Rubicon Avenue, Wickford, has been charged with common assault, assault by beating of an emergency worker, failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis and assault with intent to resist arrest.

“Demi Viccary, 26, of Cranes Lane, Basildon, has been charged with obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty and two counts of common assault of an emergency worker.”
The pair are both due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court this morning.
The Essex Police spokesman added: “If you’re concerned someone is driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, call us on 101, or in an emergency call 999, and we will act.
“If you have dash cam footage of poor and dangerous driving and you want to report it, you can let us know by visiting the Safer Essex Roads Partnership.”
