A PROJECTED opening for Basildon’s new Canadian fast food takeaway outlet has been revealed.
Work on Mile Grey Road’s Tim Hortons is rapidly progressing with cladding and roofing work already complete by Skyhigh Construction.
According to the firm, guests only need to wait until the autumn before they can feast on a succulent burger or guzzle on an ice-cold coffee.
David Kirkman, Fryerns ward Labour councillor, said: “This is good news, and I’m very excited that it’s opening.
“I’m hoping it’ll bring an economic benefit to Basildon.”
It comes as the construction business wrapped up work on sticking the cream and black cladding to the building, as well as putting on the roof.
However the firm said there is “still work to be done to the venue as the interior needs to be kitted out”.
Aerial shots taken by Skyhigh Construction and the Trojan Group, who are in charge of the project, show exactly how much space the site takes up, including its drive-thru.
Workers have laid down the grey brick floor pathway that surrounds the restaurant, windows have been installed around the bottom half of the building and the main double-doors have been fitted.
One of the drive-thru booths has also been installed, with the sliding window still needing to be put into place.
Further down the road is the town’s newest shopping hub St Hilary’s Retail Park.
Sat opposite the Pipps Hill Retail Park, the space is set to house a string of big-name brands, including Lidl, Starbucks, Greggs and Tile Mountain.
There is one final retail unit yet to have an occupier announced.
It is gearing up to welcome guests this summer.
Work appears to be nearing completion, with disabled and regular parking bays being marked on the forecourt, four electric vehicle charging points being installed and black and white bricks being laid for the pathway.
Plants and trees have also been placed in the ground to make up the landscaping.
