Drivers in south Essex will have 14 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And eight of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 13 closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• A13, from 10pm July 3 to 6am July 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 Anticlockwise, junction 30 to junction 29, carriageway closure for resurfacing works, diversion via local authority roads.

• A13, from 10pm July 3 to 5am July 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A13 westbound, junction A1089 to M25, junction 30, Lane and slip road closures for CAT1 safety fence repair, diversion Via National Highways roads.

• M25, from 10pm July 3 to 5.30am July 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 anti-clockwise, junction 28 to junction 27, Lanes closure for scheme works.

• A13, from 10pm July 6 to 5am July 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A13 Eatbound, junction A126 to A1012, Lane closure for electrical works.

• A13, from 10pm July 6 to 5am July 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1089 westbound to junction A1012, Lane closure for electrical works.

• A1089, from 10pm July 10 to 6am July 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1089 southbound, junction Asda roundabout to St Andrews road, Two-way shuttle lane northbound, with contraflow for joint inspections.

• A1089, from 10pm July 10 to 6am July 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1089 northbound, St Andrews rod to junction Asda roundabout, Two-way shuttle lane northbound, with contraflow on S/B for joint inspections.

• A13, from 10pm July 10 to 5.30am July 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A13 westbound, M25, junction 30 to junction Wennington, carriageway, entry slip road and lane closures for surfacing works, diversion via local authority.

• A1089, from 11pm July 14 to 5am July 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1089 southbound, junction A13 to junction Asda Roundabout, Lane closure for electrical works.

• A1089, from 11pm July 14 to 5am July 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1089 northbound, junction Asda roundabout to junction A13, Lane closure for electrical works.

• A282, from 9.30pm July 15 to 5am July 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A282 northbound and southbound, Dartford Crossing, Contraflow for tunnel maintenance, diversion via National Highways network.

• A13, from 10pm July 15 to 5am July 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 31, clockwise entry slip closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways natwork.

• A1089, from 10pm July 17 to 5am July 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A13 eastbound, junction A1089 to junction A126, carriageway, link road, lane closures for cyclical maintenance, diversion via local authority.

And one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A12, from 9pm September 12 2022 to 6am May 31 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A12 both directions, junction 13 to junction 15 - carriageway closure, lane closure, diversion route and contra flow for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of Virtus Ltd.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
