A SOUTHEND woman has ditched being a legal administrator to join the UK’s biggest male strip showcase brand.
Francessca Howard, 29, started working as a legal administrator at one of London's biggest law firms at the age of 18.
But after finding the job “stressful”, she quit in 2017 and turned to The Dreamboys, where she is now head of events.
She said: "I can’t see myself ever changing jobs.
“Who could ever get bored of seeing a team of boys doing what they love and making people happy.
“We are the only UK strip show that allows men to come through at our shows, but it's mainly women, coming for hen parties, sometimes even divorce parties.
“I deal with customer bookings, all emails go through me, and so do potential candidates.
“Many of our candidates have been in TV shows - some even danced with Rita Ora.
“But a lot of club boys have normal lives and normal jobs - many are just builders, electricians - and in the weekends they become Dreamboys.
"We also hold auditions. Once we had Katie Price as a guest."
After quitting her corporate job in December 2017, she scrolled through Facebook and saw a job advert for an admin assistant at the nationwide brand, which sees more than 90 male dancers perform – with some going fully nude.
In the evening of the day of her interview, she found out she got the job.
Francessca said: “At the interview we spoke about everything from our favourite shows to my favourite Dreamboy.
“I was thrilled but shocked at the same time.
"The company was such a big name and now I was going to be part of it.”
But despite loving her role, she says her love life has been affected by the choice of career, with men often misunderstanding what her job looks like.
She said: “People think I'm around naked men all the time, but that’s not true - it’s a respectful environment.
"Not many understand what the show is about and what we do - people think it’s a lot worse than it is.
“I have seen people go from being nobody to getting tons of attention from thousands of women a week.
“We partnered with a men’s health charity - we care about mental wellbeing.
“Every woman deserves to experience something that truly makes her happy, the show is for everybody.
“It’s about breaking the stigma, but you should come along and experience for yourself, and only then decide.”
