HEARTFELT tributes have been paid to a “darling” husband and loving father after he lost his courageous battle with cancer.

Steven Turner, 37, from Hullbridge, died after an “inspirational” battle against bowel cancer.

On Saturday, with his wife Tiffanie Turner by his side, and in the comfort of his home, Steven passed away.

Steven was also a father to Hudson and Forrest who are both under two years old.

Tiffanie said: “Sleep tight my darling husband.

“Since his diagnosis, he had been tested in a way no one should ever have to be tested. What he endured was pure evil, but even through that, he showed strength, resilience, courage, and bravery.

“I feel so lucky that I got to spend every single day by his side. I am not sure how I will ever get over losing him.

“But I thank him for everything we have achieved and built together, and our beautiful babies who are the most precious gift we ever received.

“Steve always said he wanted his passing to be me and him. Me and him, his biggest supporter, by his side, his comfort, his home, his true love and I made a promise that when that time come I wouldn’t leave his side.

“I know he knew it was time to leave and although this doesn’t make it easier, I know the fight was up. I know he had enough and was ready.”

In February 2022, Steven noticed bleeding after going to the toilet. He then went three more times within the hour and continued to only pass blood.

After numerous tests, Steven was told he had bowel cancer. He underwent 25 sessions of radiotherapy, and four hardcore cycles of chemotherapy.

But the treatment did not work, and doctors later found the cancer had spread to his liver and stomach lining.

Steven and his family began making memories together as a family in his final weeks.

A GoFundMe was also set up to help support the family and help them make memories with almost £15,000 raised.

After months of fighting, Steven died over the weekend.

Tiffanie has thanked all those who donated and helped make Steven’s final days comfortable.

Through out Steven’s cancer journey, despite what he was facing, he was determined to raise awareness around bowel cancer.

He urged people “if you feel something isn’t right, please see your doctor”.
