Essex has an array of beautiful sceneries and vibrant towns and cities which we can’t help but love.
We asked Echo readers on Facebook to give us their favourite places in Essex they would recommend everyone to visit.
Plenty of readers commented they love the Southend seafront and Priory Park.
Chris Thresh said Paper Mill Lock in Chelmsford is very peaceful and a great place to relax with cake and a cuppa.
If you’re a sports fan, Michael Thorpe said that Roots Hall Stadium was their favourite place to go which is home to National League team, Southend United. Stephen Daniels agreed saying: “Southend are MASSIVE everywhere we go.”
Allan Rawai said he enjoys having seafood and a pint at Old Leigh; Allison Searle agreed saying that the fresh seafood paired with an ice-cold glass of fizz is “priceless and divine!”
A number of our readers also named places further afield in Essex as their favourite to go to in the county. Greg Edwards argues he prefers Burnham as it’s a “much nicer” version of Old Leigh.
A big favourite among our readers was Maldon, home to Promenade Park and Eurovision star Sam Ryder. Reader Paul Smith said it was the best place in Essex by “a country mile.”
Readers also recommended people to visit Harlow, Walton-on-the-Naze and Hyde Hall Gardens.
