Aviation fans are set to enjoy live music and beer inside a Southend Airport hangar this weekend to raise cash for charity.
The Vulcan Restoration Trust will be hosting the airport's first-ever music and beer festival with performances from artists, street food, and locally brewed bevvies.
It is running from Friday, August 4, to Saturday, August 5, inside the historic RAF XL426 aircraft's hangar in aid of the trust.
Jamie Keene, part of the events committee at the Vulcan Restoration Trust, previously said on the event: “We are really excited - this a new event for 2023.
“It is a community-based event, run by volunteers, to raise money to go into maintaining the XL426.
“It gives people a great opportunity for people to see the aircraft in the evening as on our normal open days we usually close at 4pm.
“We have got music artists and bands all from the south Essex area, as well as local food vendors and local breweries.
“Obviously not only will we be raising money for the charity, but it is also supporting local businesses and bands which I think is important.
“Everything is welcome, and it is just something a bit different for people to enjoy.”
The festival will be running from 2pm to 10.30pm with admission costing £18 each day for adults, and £4 for accompanied under-18s.
This will include a complimentary festival beer glass, and £3 off guests' first pint with Black Box Brewery.
Pub activities are also available, including wooden skittle alleys and shove ha’penny boards.
So far, artists such as The Long Run, Rooskin, Throwback to the Future, Ruby Robinson and Jazz Quartet have confirmed their attendance.
The Vulcan Restoration Trust says there will also be free parking available. Tickets are on sale via the Trust website.
