A sudden power cut reportedly left 200 homes in Southend and Westcliff without power for almost six hours.
An unexpected power cut left homes in the SS0 9 postcode area without electricity since just after 12.30pm today (August 9).
The UK Power Networks website stated 200 homes were left without power while engineers estimated power would be back on between 8pm and 9pm tonight.
However, the power was restored by 6.30pm.

A message on the website read: "We became aware of a power cut at 12.37pm. We’re sorry for any disruption this may have caused you.
"We didn’t know in advance there would be a power cut but now that we know, our teams will do everything they can to get your power back quickly."
Engineers are currently in the area carrying out emergency repairs to the network.
