AN 'EXPERIENCE-based' popular bar is set to open its doors in Southend in the near future - here's everything we know. 

The famous adventure bar chain, Boom Battle Bar, is setting up an establishment in Southends' Victoria Shopping Centre.

The 'experience-based venue' will offer axe-throwing, shuffleboard, beer pong, crazy golf and much more.

Boom Battle Bar already has venues in a number of UK destinations, including Lakeside, Chelmsford, Norwich, as well as London to name a few.

The bar will cover approximately 10,500 sq ft across both the ground and first floor.

The plans have been long-awaited and excitement has been building in the city - however, bosses have been tight-lipped on when it will officially open. 

But now they have confirmed the project is on track to open in October. 

Alongside the feature games, there will be a premium bar with cocktails and 'delicious' street food featuring classics such as dirty fries and chicken tenders.

There will also be packages for hen, stag, and birthday arrangements as well as themed bottomless brunch available.

Derek Jarvis, councillor responsible for arts, culture, heritage, and leisure, was excited to hear about the progress.

He said: "It is great news that work is now underway on Boom Battle Bar, which will bring another exciting new dimension to the Victoria Shopping Centre, and we are confident it will be just as popular and successful as its Lakeside outlet.
