DOZENS on firefighters have tackled a huge blaze at a scrap yard in Rochford.
Essex Fire say approximately 200 cars were alight at around 9pm in Purdeys Way. Rochford.
Nearby residents were advised to close their windows.
The cars are stacked in rows of three storeys. But, firefighters managed to create a fire break to stop the fire spreading to the remaining cars.
This morning, at around 7am, Essex Fire said two crews remained at the scene working throughout the night to dampen down and make the scene safe.
Crews will continue to be on scene until the whole affected area are completely cooled.
