Airport staff were "delighted" at the weekend after being graced with a surprise performance from a Spitfire.
Southend Airport has revealed it received a impromptu mini-display from a Spitfire on Sunday, August 13.
The iconic Spitfires are set to be based at Southend Airport this week as they take part in a number of airshows - as part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF).

The BBMF will arrive at the airport on Friday, August 18, after The Typhoons fly in on the morning of Thursday, August 17.
They will be followed by the famous Red Arrows which arrive on Saturday, August 19, in the evening.
The RAF aircraft will be taking part in the Eastbourne Airshow from August 17 to 20, Folkestone Airshow, which is also on August 20, and the Clacton Airshow on August 24 and 25.
The BBMF display aircraft includes six Spitfires, two Hurricanes, the Dakota ZA947, two de Havilland Chipmunks, and the Avro Lancaster.
