We have opened an online book of condolence for much-loved Southend actor Darren Kent, 36, who has died.

Westcliff’s Darren Kent, who starred in the hit HBO fantasy drama Game of Thrones, died last week.

The acclaimed actor was known for working alongside Hollywood stars including Twilight's Kristen Stewart and 24 actor Kiefer Sutherland.

However, away from the spotlight, he devoted his time supporting disabled, non-disabled and disadvantaged people to enjoy the power of performing arts as patron of Equal People Performing Arts.

Fellow actors and residents across south Essex and further afield have been paying tribute to Darren since the confirmation of the heartbreaking news.

Share your memories of Darren and pay tribute to the south Essex star.Darren when I think of you I can't help but grin...even through the tears of knowing you are no longer with us. Because I know heaven has gained an absolute beauty of a man. I had the honour of getting to know you when we done our pantos together at RDP. Performing alongside you, your dad and Gary was so much fun. What you went on to achieve in life is amazing. So incredibly proud to have known you. That cheeky laugh of yours will stay with me forever. Shine bright up there mate. I'll check in on Gal from time to time for you. Lots of love Michelle T x
