STUDENTS have been congratulated for their success in sitting their first external exams.
Sixth Form students at William de Ferrers School have been collecting the results of their A Levels this morning.
This has been the first experience of sitting external examinations for the year group as their GCSEs were awarded through Teacher Assessed Grades.
The students were said to “have demonstrated huge determination, perseverance and resilience”.
A fantastic 97 per cent of students who took level three vocational courses were awarded Distinction*, Distinction or Merit grades, and 100 per cent achieved a pass.
Students Liam Vermeulen, Lola Booth, Nader Emam, Abigail Harverson, Charlize Ayling, Jude Macnab, Joshua English, Callum Daly, Ben Finch, Ellie Brand and Zoe Cook were singled out for achieving excellent results across a range of subjects.
Headteacher Mike Applewhite said: “We have such wonderful students at William de Ferrers School and it is a delight to see them enjoy the success of their sixth form studies.”
A spokesman for the school said: “We are very proud of the onward destinations of our students.
"In addition to our students who will now embark on a wide variety of exciting apprenticeships and employment, a large number of our students have achieved grades that will allow them to study their chosen courses at university.”
