NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to nine south Essex establishments; the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
The scheme gives businesses a rating from five to zero, with five being hygiene standards are very good, and zero being urgent improvement is required.
Here are the establishments in south Essex that have been awarded a new hygiene rating:
Southend:
Daley's Coffee House, a restaurant, cafe, or canteen at 775 London Road, Westcliff was given the score three-out-of-five after assessment on July 6.
Ye Olde Chippy, a takeaway at 77 - 79 Marine Parade, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on July 25.
Basildon:
Caffè Nero at T R B Squire House, 81-87 High Street, Billericay was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on August 3.
Papa John’s at 6 Western Road, Billericay was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on August 3.
Micky’s Catering at 71a Runwell Road, Wickford was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on August 2.
Wickford Cafe at 3-5 The Broadway, Wickford was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on July 27.
Yau's at Sheredays Mews, 5 High Street, Billericay was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on July 8.
Megabyte at South Essex College, College Way, Basildon was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 10.
Burger King, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at Unit 1 Upper Mall, Eastgate Centre, Basildon was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on July 8.
