A LETTER has been written to the Lionesses by an “inspired” Wickford schoolgirl after their stellar performance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The power of the team’s roaring success has made 13-year-old Beauchamps pupil and avid footballer Brooke Toolan “determined” to join them on the world’s stage in the future.

Not only that, but New Level Soccer Academy’s striker, also wants to replicate the effect they have had on her and inspire girls to take up the game in the future.

She has informed her heroes of how much of an impact the squad have had on her by sending them a message.

Her letter said: “To the Lionesses, it has been amazing to watch you play.

“It has made me dream about being a professional footballer like you all.

“I will try my hardest everyday to be just like you, so I can inspire the Chloe Kellys and Alessia Russos of the future.

“C’MON ENGLAND; BRING IT HOME!”

After being picked up by Wireless Group’s sports radio station TalkSport, bosses invited her to record a message, which will be broadcast on the service before the 11am kick-off on Sunday.

Ever since she was six years old, Brooke has fallen in love with football.

Her parents have been taking her from club to club and are “immensely proud” of her.

Brooke’s dad Danny said: “It all started when we were coming home from holiday, and she came out with wanting to join a football team.

“Since beginning at Barleylands, she has gone from strength to strength and is now a striker with the New Level Soccer Academy, based at Garon Park.

“Since the tournament started, she has been watching and cheering the Lionesses on.

“She absolutely loves her football and knows there is no limits to what she can accomplish like her heroes of England.”

Founded in 2021, New Level Soccer Academy is a club that aims to bridge the gap between professional academies and grassroots football through an “extensive range of weekly sessions”.

Coverage of the final starts from 9.25am on ITV1 and 9.45am on BBC One.
