Canvey organisations came together for the annual community day.

The Town Council worked in partnership with Essex County Council to hold the community day.

It took place on Friday September 1, where the day bought together organisations including, Essex Police, Fire, NHS and voluntary organisations.

There were stalls in the area in front of Canvey Library, as well as a vintage bus, a performance from Canvey Community Choir and rescue tawny owls. Inside of Canvey Library there were opportunities for children’s activities as well as more community organisations.

Town Mayor, councillor Elaine Harvey, said “It was a great event, and what a wonderful opportunity for so many community organisations to come together and showcase what they offer.”

The day was opened by a piper from the Sutherland pipe band and later in the day the Canvey Community Choir performed.

There were lots of stalls representing organisations including the Canvey Community Archive and there was a vintage bus from the Transport Museum parked up outside.
