AN OFFICIAL opening date has been revealed for Boom Battle Bar which is set to open in Southend next month.

The adventure-based venue will open its doors for the first time in the Victoria Shopping Centre on October 13.

The Boom Battle Bar site will feature a host of exhilarating games including augmented reality darts booths, crazier golf, augmented-reality axe throwing lanes, beer/prosecco pong tables, American pool, shuffleboard, Boom Box private karaoke rooms and more.

The plans have been long-awaited, and excitement has been building in the city as works got underway in August.

The bar will cover approximately 10,500 sq ft across both the ground and first floor within the former Tangs Buffet Unit.

Dennis Baldry, Victoria's Centre manager, said: "We are thrilled to introduce the unique experience of the Boom Battle Bar to Southend following its immense success in other towns and cities."

A spokesman for Boom Battle Bar added: “Before the curfew starts, why not bring your children to the battleground to play some good old-fashioned shuffleboard, or sing your hearts out in a karaoke booth?

“After curfew, Boom Battle Bar becomes an exclusive space for ages 18 and above, perfect for first dates and lively nights out with mates or colleagues. The bar is fully stocked with everything from crafty beers to signature cocktails.

“We will see you there.”

The opening day of October 13 is the planned date - however, bosses say this is subject to change if there are any unforeseen circumstances.
