A RAILWAY station caught fire in the early hours, cutting off an entrance while trains kept running.
Stanford-le-Hope station's security hut caught fire on Saturday.
The London-bound entrance was blocked off, leaving the St Cleres access the only way into the station.
Trains continued to run according to schedule and two fire crews attended the scene at 4.43 am.
A spokesman for the Essex Fire and Rescue Service said: “The cause has been recorded as accidental or deliberate both possibilities."
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and left the railway station at 5.07 am.
