AN enchanting sold-out steam train journey is departing Southend this weekend - and rail enthusiasts will have two chances to catch a glimpse of it.
Steam Dreams Rail Co. has revealed the final details for its upcoming luxury ride from Shoebury to York, including the arrival and return times.
It departs on Saturday September 23 and will commence on a vintage diesel or electric locomotive, initially hauling the train from Southend before the iconic 46100 Royal Scot locomotive will then take over, taking passengers from Peterborough through to York.
It will head along the Thames Estuary through Southend and Leigh into East London.
