British Transport Police say a man was arguing with a woman on the train, in front of two children. Another woman tried to intervene.
When she went to get off the train, the man pushed her. She fell backwards out of the train onto the platform.
A spokesman for the force said: "Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 622 of 30 July."
