A PERSON has died following a casualty on the tracks this morning.
The British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the c2c line in Upminster at 7.47am following reports of an incident.
Paramedics were also at the scene where a person was pronounced dead.
It is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to the line in Upminster at 7.47am following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
BTP added it is working to identify the individual and inform their family.
It comes after c2c announced all lines were blocked this morning due to an incident between Upminster and West Horndon.
All lines have now reopened, with services via Laindon being diverted via Rainham.
It is expected disruption will last until 11am this morning.
Bus replacements are operating between Upminster and Pitsea in both directions and calling at all stations.
The rail operator has made ticket arrangement acceptance with Greater Anglia, as well as London Underground via any reasonable route.
