A DEALER who hid cocaine and other drugs in his boxers was jailed for dealing in a ‘cottage industry’ operation in Leigh.

Connor Fisher, 24, of Grovewood Avenue, Leigh was stopped by officers on March 5 last year and found with eight grams of cannabis, a grinder, a wallet containing £600 in cash and a small bag with an unidentified white substance.

Officers raided his address and found weighing scales, bags and other drug-related paraphernalia.

Fisher was strip searched and officers found 4.48 grams of cocaine worth between £200 and £300, 3.04 grams of ketamine worth £60 to £120, 0.74 grams of MDMA and some cannabis edibles.

The defendant admitted to using cannabis and cocaine that night and his phone was searched revealing messages indicating drug dealing.

Fisher appeared in Basildon Crown Court on Friday, October 20 for sentencing.

John Mayberry, prosecuting, said: “On March 7, 2022 he was made subject to a suspended sentence order relating to being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug, cocaine.

“Mr Fisher breached that order and a portion of his sentence, 21 months, was activated in October last year.

“He was subsequently charged for today’s offences on December 22 whilst in custody.”

Fisher used cocaine and cannabis in social settings with friends, also selling among people he knew.

He appeared pleaded guilty in the crown court to ketamine and cannabis charges, later indicating responsibility for class A cocaine in May.

The defendant was set to be sentenced in May but the hearing was adjourned for five months, and he was serving time in prison up to the last two months for the previous suspended sentence breach

Edward McKiernan, mitigating, said: “Mr Fisher is now drug free on a wing that officers describe as ‘difficult’, they say he has managed to maintain his composure.

“Officers have spoken very highly of Mr Fisher and he is highly motivated to improve whilst being concerned about this hearing.

“He has told me he is fully focused on owning what’s gone on, taking and dealing drugs is a commonplace story.

“What is not commonplace is whether a person is motivated to take ownership of the situation.”

Judge Samantha Cohen sentenced Fisher to two years and seven months in prison.
