THREE men have been arrested on suspicion of affray after reports of fighting in Southend High Street.
Essex Police were called to Southend High Street, outside the Metro Bank, at around 8:10pm yesterday evening.
This followed reports of a “disturbance”.
Officers arrived and arrested three men on suspicion of affray – who currently remain in custody.
Essex Police believe the incident was filmed by several members of the public and has urged them not to share it.
There was also an increased police presence in the High Street yesterday evening.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We were called to Southend High Street, outside the Metro Bank around 8:10pm on Sunday, 22 October following reports of a disturbance.
“Officers arrived quickly and arrested three men on suspicion of affray.
“We understand that this incident may have been filmed by several members of the public. We would discourage anyone from sharing these videos online as these may be detrimental to the investigation.
“If you witnessed this or have any footage, please get in contact, quoting reference number 1119 of 22 October.”
