UPDATE 11.30am: Police have confirmed a person was pronounced dead at Basildon station this morning.
BASILDON station is not being served by c2c due to a “police incident”.
In a tweet, c2c bosses stated that police are dealing with an incident at Basildon station, and as a result Basildon will not be served.
They added that train services running across the whole c2c network may be revised.
UPDATE 8:31am: Disruption caused by the police dealing with an incident at Basildon has now ended. The station is back open.
Photos seen by the Echo show a cordon in place at the station.
A spokesman for c2c said: “Due to the police dealing with an incident at Basildon, train services running across the whole c2c network may be revised.
“Basildon will not be served.
“Firstbus 25/25A between Basildon (Bus Station) and Southend via Wickford and Rayleigh (for AGA) are conveying passengers between Laindon and Pitsea via Basildon in both directions until further notice. c2c rail tickets are accepted for these journeys.”
