Police have confirmed a person died at Basildon station this morning after an incident.
At around 6.15am, this morning, c2c bosses stated the station was shut as police were dealing with an incident.
As a result, the station would not be served. A cordon was in place around the entrance of the station and two police cars were at the scene.
Now, officers have confirmed a person was pronounced dead at the scene this morning after reports of a person experiencing a medical episode.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Officers were called to Basildon station at 5.17am today to reports of a person experiencing a medical episode. Paramedics also attended, however sadly the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The death is not believed to be suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
The station was re-opened at around 8.30am.
