The A127 underpass at Rayleigh Weir is set to shut tonight for one week of overnight closures.
Rayleigh Weir Underpass will be closed from 9pm until 5am tonight, with these overnight closures in place until November 7.
This is as "essential maintenance work" is carried out by Essex Highways. Affected drivers are being urged to allow for extra delays and plan alternate routes.

Rebecca Harris, MP for Castle Point, said: "Essex Highways have informed me that they will be shutting the underpass at Rayleigh Weir between 9pm-5am from tonight until November 7 for essential maintenance work.
"The roundabout will still be open but all Southend and London bound traffic will have to go across it.
"If you are planning on travelling via Rayleigh Weir at these times, please allow for extra delays or use alternate routes if you can."
