Police are investigating an allegation of fraud on Canvey after a victim reported cash was taken from their bank account without their knowledge.
It was initially reported a victim had been forced to withdraw money from a cash point on the island on Halloween morning. However, as police continue investigating, that isn't what is believed to have taken place.
It is instead alleged money was withdrawn from a victim's bank account without their knowledge.
Essex Police says its enquiries are ongoing into the incident.
