FLORAL tributes have been left at a Billericay school in memory of a pupil who tragically died after being hit by a vehicle in south Essex.
On Friday, emergency services were called to Stock Road, in Stock, at around 8:20am following reports of a car colliding with two children.
Sadly, a 15-year-old boy – who was a pupil at Mayflower High School – died at the scene.
Another teenage boy was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
Following the tragic news, flowers have been left at Mayflower High School in memory of the 15-year-old.
A book of condolences has also been opened for anyone who wishes to leave a message.

In a tweet, Mayflower High School wrote: “Following the tragic news on Friday we want to thank all of our community for their overwhelming support.
“Should students, staff, or members of the public wish to leave any flowers then they are welcome to. There is a memorial of flowers by our sign at the front of the school.
“We will also have a book of condolence available in main reception should you wish to leave a message.”
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.
He has since been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
Essex Police is continuing to appeal for anyone who may have witnesses the crash to contact the force.
Det Insp Mark Fraser, of the serious collision investigation unit, said “This tragic incident has had a huge impact on the community.
“Our detectives are carrying out a number of enquiries, including reviewing dashcam footage and CCTV to determine the circumstances around this collision.
“We are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have any information to contact us.”
