Youngsters are set to explore Santa’s secret headquarters where all the Christmas magic happens as a popular south Essex garden centre unveils a festive ride this weekend.

The new attraction at Scott's of Southend, based in Rochford, will slip, slide, fly and glide visitors through Lapland in a fully immersive 4D experience after it opens tomorrow.

Following the success of the Sutton Road centre's ride throughout summer and Halloween, this new virtual reality experience offers a unique family attraction for the holiday season.

Tilting forwards, backwards and side to side, the cart's movements have been specially designed to mirror those of the full 360 degree experience.

Kelly Johnson, head of marketing, said: “The VR ride has been a huge success over the summer and Halloween period. We are looking forward to welcoming more families into Scott’s of Southend garden centre to experience the magic of Christmas with our brand new Lapland adventure!

“We have something to offer everybody in store as well as our new winter menu inside our popular restaurant Scott’s Kitchen. This year we have three late night shopping events, including one for pets, more details of which can be found on our website.”
