THE family of a woman who died in Eastwood have paid tribute to her saying they are “shattered by the loss” of their “loving daughter and sister”.
Essex Police officers were called to Whitehouse Meadows at about 9pm on Tuesday, November 7, following a report of an assault.
When police attended, they located a woman who had sustained serious injuries in the garden of a property.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, Sharon Butler, 64, of Leigh-on-Sea died at the scene.
Kevin Shepherd, 54 of Whitehouse Meadows, Eastwood, has since been charged with her murder and has been remanded in custody to next appear at Basildon Crown Court on Friday, January 5, 2024.
Sharon’s family have expressed their deep shock following her death.
They said: “Our world has been shattered by the loss of our loving daughter and sister.
"Our lives will never be the same without her.
She never will be forgotten and will be forever in our hearts” and they ask for privacy at this difficult time."
Detective Chief Inspector Terry Balding, who is leading the investigation is continuing to appeal for information or footage to help with the ongoing murder investigation.
