A PERSON has been left injured following a kite surfing incident in the Thames Estuary.
The alarm was raised with Southend Coastguard at 2pm at a "beach near to Shoebury".
Once brought to safety, the rescue team supported the person before being taken into care of the East of England Ambulance Service.
The air ambulance, which landed on the field at Shoebury Common South car park, in Shoebury Common Road, then flew the individual to hospital.
A spokesman for HM Coastguard Southend said: “Southend Coastguard Rescue Team (CRT) attended an incident involving an injured kite surfer on November 19.
“The alarm was raised at about 2pm at Southend beach. Southend CRT supported as the person was taken into the care of the East of England Ambulance Service and then flown to hospital by air ambulance.”
