Dozens of homes could be left without water as "emergency repairs" are being carried out close to Southend city centre.

Essex and Suffolk Water is carrying out "essential work" in Clifftown Parade, between Prittlewell Square and Devereux Avenue, which may affect water supplies in the area.

Crews expect work to be finished by 2.30pm but warn homes around Clifftown Parade may experience no water or low pressure.

An Essex and Suffolk Water spokesman said: "Emergency repair required. Water supplies around Clifftown Parade may be affected until 2.30pm.

"Thank you for your patience."
