Train operator c2c has revealed how its services will be impacted by industrial action on several days in December.

Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen (Aslef) has announced a strike for Tuesday, December 5 with action short of a strike planned from December 1) to December 9.

The rail company said on its website that it is working with its train planning team to work out the level of service it can run on Sunday (December 3).

On December 1, 4, 6, 7 and 8, it said a reduced peak time service will be available with two trains per hour off peak on all routes. However, first and last trains will not be affected.

Services on December 2, 3 and 9, will be “severely reduced”, it added, while no c2c trains on any of the routes will be running on December 5.

Engineering works will also take place that will affect journeys between December 3 and 7.

Rob Mullen, c2c managing director, said: “The impact of this ongoing action is significant for our customers and colleagues. I’m hopeful that further meetings with the unions are productive and see progress made toward concluding this challenging time for the railway.”
