AN inquest has opened into the death of an 88-year-old who died at her home in Westcliff.
Rosemary Carrington had suffered a fall at her home on October 8, and was later admitted to Southend Hospital and treated for head injuries by the neurosurgical team.
Staff later discharged Ms Carrington, but on October 21 she was readmitted to hospital.
A scan at Southend Hospital found Ms Carrington was suffering from a subdural haematoma, and she later died on Friday, November 3.
A cause of death has since been given as dementia, Parkinson’s, hyper tension, and frailty due to old age.
