A “WARM and luxurious” Indian restaurant has sent rich spice aromas around Benfleet after throwing its doors open to its first customers.
Vijay Naidu is behind the restaurant and is hoping to use his 25 years of experience working in Michelin star restaurants in Delhi and Mumbai to make the new business a huge hit.
Vrish, in London Road, launched on Sunday and marks Vijay’s first step into owning a restaurant.
The Laindon resident has rounded-up a team of “dedicated staff and chefs” to bring passion, creativity and first-class customer service to south Essex.
He said: “This is my first business, and I’m really excited about it because of my passion to providing people with the best restaurant experience they could possibly get.
“Customers can experience a nice calm and relaxing atmosphere in a luxurious environment where they can feast on a range of our authentic dishes that always use high quality ingredients, such as our £11.95 chicken chettinad curry.
“I used to work in Michelin star restaurants in Delhi and Mumbai, so I know what it takes to deliver beautifully presented and well-cooked dishes, as well as high quality customer service.”
Since its opening, Vijay says many of people have been coming in to try out the new restaurant, with the £12.95 chicken biryani being the most popular dish.
Those who have tried out Vrish have taken to Google to leave their thoughts of the quality of food, the customer service and the overall experience.
One said: “Great food, lovely atmosphere, staff very friendly, always reachable and approachable.
“Lovely to be greeted with a smile. Will definitely be going back soon.”
Another penned: “Definitely five stars, the food was incredible and on the prime location of Benfleet, which is on London Road.
“All the servers were nice and had great recommendations.
“Overall an amazing place and would come again.”
Reacting to the positive reviews, Vijay said: “I feel very proud that people have taken the time to show their appreciation during my first week.
“I hope we can carry that on for the future.”
