A man who was rescued by firefighters was taken to hospital after a car ended up in a ditch in south Essex.
Essex Fire and Rescue Service crews from Rayleigh Weir and Hawkwell rushed to Lower Road in Hullbridge yesterday after reports of a crash which left a man trapped in his car in a ditch.
Firefighters stabilised the car and rescued the man, before leaving him in the care of the ambulance service at 5.25pm.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to Southend Hospital for further treatment.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 4.29pm on Tuesday with reports that a car was in a ditch on Lower Road in Hullbridge.
“An ambulance was sent to the scene. An adult male was assessed and treated at the scene before being transported to Southend University Hospital for further treatment.”
