Police have arrested two men and seized almost 1,000 cannabis plants in a Shoebury drugs raid.
On the morning of Tuesday, officers in the Southend Community Policing, Operation Policing Command and Chemical, Biological, Radioactive and Nuclear teams attended an industrial unit in Vanguard Way, Shoebury.
Two men were arrested at the scene and almost 1,000 cannabis plants were seized at the address, with an estimated value of £320,000.
39-year-old Klodian Malaj, of Vanguard Way, Shoebury, and 33-year-old Leando Vila, of no fixed address, have been charged with producing a Class B drug.
Both appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, November 30, and have been remanded in custody.
Inspector Jane Childs of Essex Police's Southend community policing team said: “This is a huge volume of drugs to take of the streets of Southend and Essex, made possible thanks to members of the public providing vital intelligence to support our officers."
