A new fast-food restaurant is set to open its doors in Basildon town centre next week with dozens of new jobs created.
After months of anticipation, the new Burger King at the former Maplin store in Westgate Shopping Park will be unveiled in a special opening event after creating 30 new jobs in the area.
In an exciting first-come-first-served deal, 1,000 free burgers will be up for grabs when the latest home of the Whopper opens on Monday.
On top of that, the 100th customer to enter the restaurant set to get a year's supply of Burger King.
To get in on a bite of the action, diners simply need to order a Whopper or Chicken Royale at the front counter or drive thrus to get their burger totally free.
Limited-edition tote bags will also be handed out to mark the opening, including a leaflet with exclusive offers available on the famous chain's app – but guests will have to be quick as there will be just 100 available.
Alasdair Murdoch, CEO of Burger King, commented: “We know the people of Basildon love the great-tasting food of Burger King, so we’ve listened to their requests and are very excited to bring all their favourites to their neighbourhood.”
The burger chain unveiled plans to convert the former town centre electrical store at the start of this year, and the bid was approved by Basildon Council in April.
