A businessman from Basildon has been fined a five-figure sum and named and shamed by the Government after failing to pay his tax bill.
Company director Adrian Vlad, of Whitmore Way, was named on a list of Essex individuals and businesses who have “deliberately defaulted” on their tax obligations.
In the latest update, published on September 21, Vlad was shown to be hit with a penalty totalling £57,224.73.
He racked up defaults amounting to £91,559.60 between April 2016 and April 2020.
Details are published when a person or business has made at least one deliberate default on more than £25,000, according to HMRC.
The list is updated every three months, and the information is wiped after a year.
HMRC’s Publishing Details of Deliberate Defaulters (PDDD) scheme provides information about people and businesses given financial penalties for failing to comply with tax obligations or deliberately filing errors in tax returns.
