WORK on a new luxurious Turkish restaurant in Basildon is rapidly progressing as bosses aim to host a “soft launch” next week.
Owner Abdullah Tekagac has been transforming a former car dealership in a prominent spot in East Mayne since September, and has now revealed the restaurant, called The Eyna Lounge and Grill, is almost complete.
Mr Tekagac is hoping to create a “modern and inviting atmosphere” and is confident the restaurant will be fully open by Christmas.
Once open, Turkish food lovers will be able to feast on a range of mouth-watering foods, including kebab and pasta.
Mr Tekagac added: “We are really pleased with how fast work is progressing on the project and really excited to welcome guests very soon.
“We are hoping to open at some point in mid-December, but we will be in a position shortly to confirm an official date.
“Once the doors are open, people can expect delicious, high-quality meals that are sure to satisfy diners and make them come back for more.”
It is expected the restaurant will be able to seat 200 people on the ground floor, as well as offer 15 full- and ten part-time jobs.
According to the website, the menu, which is still yet to be confirmed, is “filled with authentic dishes and our chefs are trained to ensure every plate is made to perfection”.
In addition to food, guests will soon be able to tipple on ice-cold cocktails at the dinner table or in the lounge.
The website also states it is the “best Turkish restaurant in Essex”.
Stuart Terson, Pitsea North West Conservative councillor, says it is “really exciting” the restaurant is opening soon.
He said: “I am pleased with any new business choosing to invest in Basildon – but definitely in Pitsea North West.
“It is good to see they have confidence in the area, and it really does sound like it is going to be a very good restaurant.
“I hope it is going to be a huge success, and I am sure that my family and I will head down to The Eyna Lounge and Grill when it opens to enjoy its food and hospitality.”
