RAYLEIGH Dogs Trust has been crowned the winner of the town council’s best charity shop Christmas display.
The annual fun festive Christmas display competition, which has been organised by Trinity ward Conservative councillor Cheryl Roe, also saw two other High Street businesses claim victory.
Best commercial display went to Star Cafe Pie and Mash, and best public house was given to The Half Moon.
Each winner received a certificate, a little hamper and either a trophy or a shield.
The initiative was sponsored by Palmers Solicitors.
In a Facebook post, Danielle Belton, Conservative chairman of Rayleigh Town Council, said: “Well done to the Rayleigh Town Council Christmas display winners this year.
“Best commercial, Star Cafe Pie and Mash, best charity shop, Dogs Trust, best public house, The Half Moon.
“As always, a big thank you to Palmers Solicitors for sponsoring the awards.
“Thank you to councillor Cheryl Roe for her work in bringing this forward each year.”
