A PEDESTRIAN has died after being hit by a car in a fatal Southend crash.
Essex Police were called to Woodgrange Drive, in Southend, at around 4:20pm on Wednesday, December 13, following a crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a man in his 70s was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Essex Police has since confirmed he passed away in hospital yesterday.
A woman was arrested at the scene and has since been bailed whilst enquiries continue.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses to now come forward.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Southend last week.
"Officers were called to Woodgrange Drive in Southend around 4:20pm on Wednesday, December 13, following report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
"The pedestrian, a man in his 70s was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
"Sadly, he passed away in hospital on Wednesday, 20 December. His family are aware.
"A woman was arrested at the scene and has since been bailed whilst enquiries continue.
"Officers from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything or have any further information or dashcam footage to contact us.
"Please quote incident number 726 of 13 December."
