GREATER Anglia has issued an update following one of Billericay train station’s platform waiting rooms being closed due to a “fly infestation”.
The Radford Way station put up a sign on the platform two indoor seating area door saying it was shut due to the issue.
The facility is used for passengers who are waiting for their train heading towards Southend Victoria.
Now, the south Essex rail operator has said the waiting room reopened at 9.15am after the issue was rectified.
A spokesman for Greater Anglia said: “Yesterday afternoon at 4.30pm there was a small fly infestation in the platform two waiting area.
“The issue was flagged with the team straight away, and the issue was dealt with first thing this morning.
“Most of the flies were already dead.
“The waiting room was reopened at 9.15am.”
