Police have provided an update on their investigation after a car "ploughed into" a home in south Essex on Christmas Day.
Police were called to the scene of the crash in Argent Street, Grays, at about 9.50am after reports a vehicle crashed into a home causing "extensive damage".
The road was closed for several hours while police and firefighters were on the scene dealing with the incident. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
No one from the property was reported as injured and an 18-year-old man was arrested shortly after the incident on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving without a licence and no insurance.
Police have now confirmed the man has been released on bail while their enquiries continue.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We were notified at around 9.50am on Monday of the single-vehicle collision in which a car collided with a property causing extensive damage.
"Thankfully, no one from the property was reported as injured.
"An 18-year-old man, from Grays, arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving without a licence and no insurance, has since been released on bail while enquiries continue."
