MEMBERS of a Shoebury swimming group have raised money to purchase two defibrillators.
On Saturday, some of those from the Shoebury Dippers, sang some carols in the Old Garrison public house, in Campfield Road, and raised £60.
They will be located at St Andrews Church Hall, in Church Road, and St Peters church, in Hinguar Street.
A spokesman for the Shoebury Dippers said: “It was such a joyous occasion, and people really enjoyed hearing the carols.
“We are incredibly grateful for all the donations, which will go towards purchasing two pieces of lifesaving equipment.
“Also, it was wonderful to have been given the opportunity by the Old Garrison to accommodate us for the carols, and we give them our biggest thanks.”
The Shoebury Dippers is a group who enjoy taking a swim in the Thames Estuary.
