POLICE are on the scene of a serious collision involving a moped and a bus in south Essex which has prompted the closure of two stretches of roads.
Chadwell Hill in Chadwell St Mary, in the Thurrock borough, is currently closed at the junction with the Cross Keys.
As part of the same incident, police say they have also closed a section of road nearby, in Adelaide Road, Tilbury.
Both stretches of road are expected to be closed for some time whilst emergency services deal with the incident and a thorough investigation is carried out.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “Officers are currently carrying out fast-faced enquiries in order to piece together the circumstances leading up to the collision and we have spoken to a number of witnesses to get their accounts.
“At this stage, we also know some passengers on the bus which was involved have left the area without speaking to police and we would urge those people to please get in touch with us so we can take their accounts.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage of it should get in touch as soon as possible.
