A DEVELOPER says his dream has come true as “multi-million pound” luxury apartments on a former Thundersley military uniform business near completion.
Savannah Property Investments owner Liam McNamara, 33, revealed his 30 “exceptional and environmentally-friendly” homes - a mix of one and two bedrooms - will launch at the end of April.
The Savannah Heights homes, which are equipped with stylish kitchens that feature quartz work surfaces and high-speed fibre broadband, start at £300,000 and are marketed by estate agents Gilbert and Rose.
It comes after planning permission was granted on May 26, 2022, the same year Hobson and Sons’ building was demolished after vacating the Kenneth Road site in 2021.
Mr McNamara said: “It’s incredibly exciting and a dream come true that my vision of a luxury apartment building in Thundersley is close to completion.
“The environmentally friendly properties, which are a mix of one and two-bedrooms, are targeting first-time buying couples or singles.
“Every home boasts elegant kitchens, luxurious bathrooms and some feature balconies.
“Since planning permission was accepted in 2022, the council has been nothing but supportive with my project, in collaboration with Sweeney Construction.
“I look forward to opening of Savannah Heights.”
Alongside the apartments, residents will have access to a rooftop terrace that offers “breathtaking views of Thundersley” while they relax and socialise.
A total of 30 parking spaces will be available, as well as secured bike storage in the “beautifully designed” landscaped front and rear gardens.
Speaking about why he chose the site for his development, Liam added: “I always loved how prominent and large the old Hobson and Sons site was and when I lived in Park Road, which is a stone’s throw away, I always dreamed of having it.
“Now, that dream has become a reality.”
Established in 1850, Hobson and Sons is recognised for being the leading manufacturer of uniform clothing and equipment in the UK.
In the 1930s, Hobson purchased the Thundersley site, and a big number of uniforms were manufactured for the war effort.
