NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to nine Southend establishments; the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
The scheme gives businesses a rating from five to zero, with five being hygiene standards are very good, and zero being urgent improvement is required.
Here are the establishments in the Southend borough that have been awarded a new hygiene rating:
Southend:
Venecci Licensed Coffee Lounge at 199 Eastern Esplanade, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 5.
Namaste Village Southend at 1 Eastern Esplanade, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on December 19.
Bocca at 41 Broadway, Leigh was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on December 15.
The Lemon Witch Kitchen at 115 Broadway, Leigh was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on December 15.
Alvaros at 32 - 34 St Helen'S Road, Westcliff was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on December 13.
Like2shop at 258 Southchurch Road, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on December 12.
Toasteas at 99 West Road, Shoeburyness, Southend was handed a three-out-of-five rating after assessment on December 5.
Revolution at 8 - 14 Queens Road, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 3.
Halfway House Toby Carvery (Thorpe Bay) at Toby Carvery, 213 Eastern Esplanade, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 2.
