Firefighters from across south Essex rushed to an industrial building as it went up in flames this afternoon.
Essex Fire and Rescue service was called to the incident in Little Warley Hall Lane, West Horndon, at 3pm this afternoon.
When crews from Brentwood, Basildon and Rayleigh arrived at the scene they reported a fire in an industrial unit measuring 15 metres by 15 metres.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building to tackle the blaze. The blaze has now been tackled but crews remain at the site monitoring for hotspots and dampening down the area.
Station Manager, Jeremy Tuckwell said: “Firefighters worked hard to bring the fire under control and stop it spreading to other units.
“Crews are now dampening down the area and monitoring for any hotspots.”
The fire service says an investigation into the cause of the fire will be launched once the scene is fully cooled
